Sandra J. Hentzen
Sandra Hentzen has over 30 years’ experience in the Human Resources field, including in executive roles. Sandra was the Vice President, Human Resources at Coast Mountain Bus Company for two years, and retired from TransLink in 2015 after serving as the Executive Vice President, Human Resources for six years. In 2018, Sandra joined the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC, an independent agency of the Ministry of Attorney General as their Chief Operating Officer, retiring from there at the end of 2025.
Sandra is a strong people leader and mentor, with practical experience in change management, strategic planning, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and mediation. She is a certified executive coach and during her tenure in the BC government, provided leadership coaching to employees at senior levels.
Dr. Zhong Sheng (Simon) Liu
Dr. Simon Liu is a highly respected researcher whose technical specializations span geochemical reaction modelling, electrochemistry, and computational mechanics. A recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, he was a Principal Research Officer with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada’s largest government science and technology research organization. His 28-year career there bridged the gap between scientific discovery and industrial commercialization and drove innovation especially in the fields of clean energy and the environment.
A deep thinker, who integrates his curiosity across science and business, Simon’s interest in solving problems has always been grounded in being a good human. He served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo, University of Windsor, and University of Victoria, co-supervising doctoral students on joint research projects. He has nurtured and mentored young scientists over his long career, some of whom are now leaders in their own fields of research.
Simon is now the Principal Scientist at Liu R&D Consulting Inc., and works on modelling and characterization projects that are aligned to the national interests of Canada.
Raymond L. Ketcham
Raymond Ketcham has an obsession for human stories. Originally from the American Southwest, he has lived in the Pacific Northwest for the majority of his life where he first studied sculpture at the University of Western Washington and went on to show his work in New York and Seattle.
As a commercial and freelance photographer, his clients included humanitarian and government organizations as well as local businesses. He taught and mentored new photographers, one-on-one and through a series of artist round tables held in the picturesque artist community of Port Townsend, WA and in other locations in the United States. His approach is grounded in the knowledge that artistic voice is not something to be invented. It is already present in a person’s experiences, values, and way of seeing the world. His work with students helped them move beyond imitation to become more attentive to what is already their own, so their photographs can speak from a place of honesty, curiosity, and lived experience.
Raymond now spends the majority of time on the south shores of the Fraser River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. He continues to work on projects that are meaningful to him, as well as just making stuff.
